pulling a Bonnard
Bonnard was of the mind a painting was never finished. when he visited friends, they would hide any work of his they owned, as sooner of later during the visit he would disappear and inevitably be found continuing to work on their / formerly his painting. i can see / understand his thinking and have found myself doing the same with pieces that i have not seen for a while.
at the same time, works that have not left the studio, that are still hanging around here, also come into the same consideration as possibly being not quite finished, of needing a 2nd look and of just what more work needs be done.
left this idea alone for a couple of weeks worked on other things the idea kept inserting itself into my thoughts came back to it today and continued to work on this lit up’ room’ in the forest bringing out some of the power in the idea from the forest along southwood road.
