painting leaks
one of many ideas begun years ago, finally worked to a place i can stop. my experience shows in a way no painting is safe, as in finished, as long as it is here in the studio. in a way it can seem like traveling thru time. coming back to a painting even a year later, and now continuing to work on it, looking at it afresh with the added experience of a years painting inbetween may offer changes that would never have been realized a year before.
fun beaver dam atop a 6 foot hill so able to stand near edge water at eyeball level / had to stop myself from doing a doggie paddle over to the lodge. ok may a breaststroke, were it not that it was frozen and snowcovered yet leaking leaking leaking creating a rivulet wandering in among the pines below…..the ground was soaked i was soaked, it was misting more than raining as i followed the leak to where joining the ditch at the side of the road it held less interest and i walked back into the moment in time the pines the jump-able (were the ground not soaked on the other side) streamette, creature from the lagoon wet hair and down filled jacket a drizzled soak wiping the condensation off the windows sipping thermos coffee in a steamed up jeep only to see the last of the snow being washed away a perfect novembers day drive back in the dark with the day playing over and different in my head.
