autumn on the pond
November. it rains a lot. the ponds overfill overflow their edges. shorelines disappear and new ones are made for as long as it takes to have the excess rain be absorbed into the groundwater. new shorelines that are chaotic, unmeant to be, moments in time, which is what makes them so interesting in the most visually novel of ways creating / leaving reflections that are immediately connected to what they are reflecting. we lose ourselves painting ‘water’ which is in contact with the land / we look for the ways, for the connections with the land, and stuff on the land; with stuff that is growing right out of the water, even if it is only because of a momentary high water level.
an ongoing series we call autumn on the pond, in which we explore the infinite ways autumn treats us each year to its colours and reflections
this time ‘autumn on the pond’ autumn is a magical overflowing carnival full to the brim with all the colours of the leaves leaving us.
