primitive waters
the backwaters, the primitive waters making up ponds where the odd beaver might have a stick shack, the shallow streams, in some places only inches deep yet reflections that stretch out forever; these are the waters that interest us; okay, occasionally i might find something of interest on a manicured lake, and work it into a painting, but more often than not, we find ourselves drawn to where the stream has its source bubbling out of the ground….
