three new bike paintings
some days a picture is worth a thousand words, other times it is enough to simply call it another masterpiece; either way have worked thru 3 new bike paintings in the ongoing lido bikes series.
lido bikes 127 / 18″ x 26″ mixed media (watercolcour / acrylic painted directly on absorbent ground on gessoed birch panel)
one of my bikes on watercolour paper, for which i still have to get a frame, was juried into the upcoming CSPWC Open Water Exhibition coming up later this month / will post it up here as it gets closer to the opening night.
lido bikes 128 / 18″ x 22.1/2″ mixed media (watercolcour / acrylic painted directly on absorbent ground on gessoed birch panel)
for a while now was thinking of just simply describing the work as mixed media / lately haven’t even bothered to distinguish between works are directly on gessoed panel and those on absorbent ground / question of how much information is too much / then i ran into a woman at the trinity bellwoods flea crawl who could look but not see, was convinced these were photo transfers or some such thing / yuck / let her know that photo / image transfers are for the artistically challenged and have nothing to do with fine art
lido bikes 129 / 16″ x 19.1/2″ mixed media (watercolcour / acrylic painted directly on absorbent ground on gessoed birch panel)
we all have our problems; i think i said there were 3 new bike paintings and lo and behold there are 4 / i can do all the math in the drawing of the bikes but when it comes to counting…..
lido bikes 130 / 22 1/4″ x 25 1/2 ” mixed media (watercolcour / acrylic painted directly on absorbent ground on gessoed birch panel)
