venice watercolours available
spent a week taking another look at some earlier watercolours of / from venice here at the studio; of course no way i can look with only my eyes; brushes in both hands stuck a 3rd brush full of another colour in my mouth till i could use it, there being nowhere to put it down cleanly, then 2, so, happily, these no longer look the way they did; say no more.
so these six works are available framed or unframed, (can include acid free museum matt no charge for unframed); more than generous allowance for you to take these to your framer and get any or all of these framed exactly the way you want.
posting six here, more have been added to the venice page;
manganese door grand canal 30″ x 22″ watercolour on arches paper / totally reworked the water energy which then needed warming the day forward to a softer light suggesting the sun lower in the sky
light beyond the bridge 30″ x18″ watercolour on arches paper / from our days in our barca more floating than outboard across yards of water between bridges / it now displays a couple of minor unnoticeable changes….
geranium window venice 22″ x 16″ watercolour on arches paper / lost hours aging the wall /
earlier post was silly cheerful.
canalside dorsoduro venice 22″ x 16″ watercolour on arches paper /
it can be seen in an earlier time and space in the previous post to this one.
canal landing rio ognissanti venice, 30″ x 22″ watercolour on arches paper / i know i have over what must be 4 or 5 works painted hundreds of feet slowly decaying brickwork interspersed with canal landing platforms and gates of this wall along the rio ognissanti / kinda makes you wonder if i get off on watching paint dry, although i draw the line at watching grass grow
crosshatch day canneregio canal 30″ x 22″ watercolour on arches paper
painted this idea applying building upon thousands of not so much individual cross-hatches as crosshatching groups of parallel strokes; pretty sure i ought source jasper johns for the cross hatching although i was not thinking of him and what he did when the idea arose…but i do and did know of him.
not sure how evident / clear some of the brushstrokes are in this enlarged section…but they are there….
