2nd of two winterlight works juried into the Society of Canadian Artists Members Exhibition at th Dignam Gallery on Prince Arthur in Toronto October 31st to November 11th, 2026;

the exhibition is all about celebration, and i chose to celebrate that, inbetween everything else we have explored and expressed thru our artwork, i have been painting winterlight as Wendy and I have found it each year for 50 years.

‘trail thru a splash dazzle clearing’  is about coming into sunlight while breaking trail snowshoeing off the trunk rd open all the way into the marina along 12 mile bay rd in georgian bay. simplified down to the dazzle of sunlit snow collected on the trees expressing the coming out from a forest thick with snowcovered trees, coming upon a explosion of brilliant light in a clearing resembling winters’ waiting room

i can add that we have a history with the building itself. Wendy and i put on 2 solo exhibitions of our work here when it was the Womens Art Association.

‘trail thru a splash dazzle clearing’    18″ x 18″    watercolour / acrylic painted directly on gessoed panel   /   700.
