was fortunate enough to get away yesterday and wander along southwood road as far as the barrens; blue skies, snow on the trees protected from the winds deeper in the forest / it was memorable; blue skies while leaving the city only to run into a snow squall stretching from hwy 404 aurora / along ravenshoe, / up 48 and only north of beaverton did i find myself back in blue skies. the news had spoken of possible snow squalls everywhere. this was everywhere.

normally no problem with – temps (last year found myself out at sunrise along southwood road in -29 temps with little problem as the temps climbed with the sun and was soon basking in – 16 snowshoeing / breaking trails) but yesterday at stayed at – 25, which did play with what i was able to work out.
