never finished except when they are
brought up 5 new works for Erin and Ivan at the Petroff Gallery and retrieved a few they had not had any success with and as often as not, work brought back gets a serious deciding second look which usually means it / they get painted over – the panels are – reincarnated – as freshly re gessoed blanks waiting for new ideas. this one got reworked a bit adding to the overall feel that was there moreso than changing it into something new. it’s as if it just needed this after the fact tweak to really bring out what was there all along, so you might say not that it it wasn’t really finished, cause it was, but that there was more to the idea than i realized at the time. hindsight does that a lot to me. either way, was happy with the idea as a somber wet snow day in rosedale and just as okay with the sun having come out and set the street alight.
