earlier work reaches auction again
got an email from a friend in the bahamas, with a heads up about 4 of my earlier works being up for auction at Waddingtons’ in the city here….people from out of town are more tuned in to the goings on, or ought i say nongoings on not going on around the city, except in this case i think it was a online goings on….
part client, part friend, while wishing her the very best, we know the gal who had enjoyed her collection, enjoyed the works over the span she had it. .

so without really following the action at the auction houses, which explains why the friend from the bahamas has to clue me in that my work is being auctioned, i think that i have seen nearer to 3 dozen than not, works that have now changed hands, found new walls in new homes to hang out on…geez, being the source for this wealth being generated from resales, you think i would be at least entitled to claim a tax credit.for a % tage of the price it was offered at and price it sold for…
so, probably needless, probably tacky of me to go on about music getting royalties with each spin, tv’s shows collecting royalties each time they are aired, while artwork, reshown, resold, profits the owner and auction house it does fuck all for the artist, who more than likely undersold the work i the fist place; .oh yes each sale establishes new bottom prices for the next sale which again will not favour the artist in any way more than those sales that had happened before…which leaves the ball in my court as to how to make the work that is out there do extra work for us……
