local wild
always looking for the wild in any / every place
simple stream winding thru bruces mill outside of stouffeville
which i have snowshoed thru for over 20 years in the winter usually the morning after an overnight snowfall since it is a mere half hour our of the city. this same stream and immediate surrounding area has been the source of over a hundred of my winter paintings, is where i played hide n seek with a piliated woodpecker for twenty minutes before we got tired of each other, is where in a sloppy moment on my part, had a branch hit me in the eye only to find it was a blessing since the visit to the ophthalmologist that same sunday night showed i had a detaching retina which would have soon fully detached had i not had to immediately go visit the doc;
my attraction stems from the fact they leave the place untouched,
leave trees that want to fall over to go ahead and fall over, and that it is mere minutes away so i can get there n wander thru a magic snowfall before the winds start to do their thing.
