open streams in winter

Don’t mind the cold but back to back to back to….unrelenting extreme sub zero temperatures give me an unwanted Alaska experience without the polar bears, and given that over the course of any normal winter the majority grumble about whatever snow comes their way, i can just imagine how everyone may respond to this seasons offerings of white; which is a tad worrisome because this is my favourite season (when it is here) and each year my snowshoed feet and imagination go wandering resulting in a whole new series of winter paintings which this year may only serve to negatively remind those skittish of December’s to April blanket covering the north’s rejuvenating hibernation. But then. when it comes to my work, i have never sought out the majority, merely those who can appreciate the originality of a delicately painted viewpoint of the world around us.

With this in mind, a whole new series of works for the Artist Project in February, in addition to the magic that is a snow covered day i have been lucky enough to come across open streams – melted snow if you will – which on the one hand suggests a spring melt and on the other shows the spilling possibilities, the musical energy interrupting otherwise silent moments and places;
