December looks to be giving us a White Christmas this year;
I gave Carrie at Artbomb 2 of my winter pieces, one of which will be in the Online Auction this Saturday; not knowing which one they will actually put in first, so…….
either “moments when everything is alright in the world” 16″ x 16″ mixed media (watercolour / acrylic painted directly on gessoed birch panel)
(click on any image to enlarge)
or, “streamers of daylight stealing down the hillside” 16″ x 16″ mixed media (watercolour / acrylic painted directly on gessoed birch panel)….. will be featured…
For anyone who cannot get to the online auction…..
Three of my latest winterlight paintings heralding winter having crossed over, encroached on autumn here. so that much of the countryside is now blanketed in white. are available from the studio
‘sunstriped drift of daylight along a stretch of treelined trail’ – 18″ x 24″ mixed media (watercolour / acrylic painted directly on on absorbent ground on gessoed birch panel)
‘clear winters day full of shifting impressions & quietly random strips of sunlight’ 18″ x 24″ mixed media (watercolour / acrylic painted directly on gessoed birch panel)
‘untroubled existence and chaos in and out of sunlight – new snowfall on the beaver pond’ 18″ x 24″ mixed media (watercolour / acrylic painted directly on gessoed birch panel)
‘late day sun drifting past uncovered moments’ 12″ x 8″ mixed media (watercolour / acrylic painted directly on absorbent ground on gessoed birch panel)
Equally, a larger work, ” long stretches of daylight crossing a path thru the woods on a day needing no explanations” 24″ x 48″ mixed media (watercolour / acrylic painted directly on on absorbent ground on gessoed birch panel) is available at John Libby Fine Art Gallery on King Street East, in Toronto
and ” treeline shadows in spirited conversations between the sun and snow” 24″ x 24″ mixed media (watercolour / acrylic painted directly on absorbent ground on gessoed birch panel) is one of 3 winter pieces now at the Petroff Gallery on Eglinton Ave. here in the city
